GAME DESIGN B.S.
MINOR IN NARRATIVE DESIGN
About myself
I am a game design student at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. I graduated in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Game Design and a minor in Narrative Design.
Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated with video games. I was drawn to narrative experiences; games with thematic elements and gripping stories. Before I was even allowed to play video games, I would sit at my parents’ computer and watch cutscenes from any game that I could find online. My first real introduction to games with interesting characters and expansive worlds was Nintendo's, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the 3Ds. I became immersed in the game's rich, intricate world and compelling characters.
Personally, I am especially drawn to games that have a moral and deeper theme. It is important to me that the player can walk away from the game learning something meaningful through the game’s message. I love spending my time consuming many different forms of media and storytelling: Film, TV, etc. I have an insatiable appetite for getting lost in stories with compelling characters. I am particularly inspired by visual storytelling. One of my favorite examples of this storytelling genre is seen in the work of Hayao Miyazaki. I enjoy breaking down these various forms of media and analyzing the structure, morals, and themes.
During my education in Game Design, I have had experience working on both solo and team-based projects. I aspire to make games that will make a positive impact on the world and on those who play them.
